Christoph Brand, Head of Digital at Tamedia shortly explained their digital investment strategy. Today the digital area accounts for 30% of the revenues. And the goal is to increase it to 50% in the mid-term. This should be achieved by acquiring ‘ripe startups’ - startups that have already a revenue stream. To sustain and grow these startups, Tamedia is offering it’s high reach - Tamedia is reaching 78% of the Swiss Internet audience in one month with its current products. And also the support of a highly skilled digital team dedicated to expand and grow the current portfolio. Check out their brand new website.
Next speaker was Joel Perrenoud who shared with us his story of building up Diviac - an online diving logbook. As a long-term consultant and investor himself and after having been fired from his job, he decided to do something he is really passionate about - building up a company in the field of diving - his hobby for a very long time. He built up his startup based on the lean startup principles, working virtually from his kitchen with contractors from all over the world. Within less than a year his ideas were transformed into a working platform. The first users have been attracted and the platform is growing - to speed up this process the team is now searching for a new diving member in the area of online marketing.
The last speaker was Kristian Kabashi, a veteran in the media industry who has built up the event platform tillate in Italy and Kosova. He has revealed his new project during the Web Monday. Due to the frustration by the persisting and disturbing banner ads that follow us on all our devices, he worked out a new advertising approach. Ngm.io is a platform for bloggers that will cover all their needs - a one-stop-shop for bloggers that would like to earn money with their written or video content. Big brands will be able to sponsor posts and thus increase their brand awareness and reputation.
