Two Capetonians in Zurich

Stew Jason and Dagmar hiking

The week was jam packed, meeting the team leads for front-end, UX, site-building, back-end, project management and marketing.

Jason Lewis and I got to attend some very informative team meetings. This gave us invaluable insight into the day-to-day operations at the Zurich office as well as the necessary knowledge for implementation back home.

Jason and Stew at Amazee Labs ZurichThe Amazee Labs Couch

The "famous" Amazee Labs website couch, played a part in our "right of passage", as this is where we had our new team member profile photos taken, by the talented - former Amazee - Boris Baldinger.

Zurich in summer is a visual feast. From medieval city walls and detailed architecture to the eclectic city skyline with church steeples, turrets and the modern Prime Tower. This, all set against a picturesque mountainous, snow capped backdrop. The ever adventurous Dagmar and Josef took us up Bachtel Hill (1115m), near Rapperswil, where we got to enjoy a panoramic view of the Alps and Lake Zurich. A real treat for us!

In the evenings we were joined by the team, who introduced us to sites, bites and sounds of Zurich, from the "Old City" to the trendy Langstrasse.

Out for a burger at The Bite and The Old City from LindenhofDrupal Zurich BBQ and late night swim in the Limmat river

The week ended with the Zurich Drupal Meetup BBQ, where we enjoyed some Swiss-made "Boerewors" and drops of Amarula. We had such great weather that we ended off the evening with a swim at 11:30pm in the Limmat river.

Thanks again to the Zurich team for being such wonderful hosts and for sharing their time and expertise with us. See you in Cape Town!
