amazee @ scobleizer

sitting on my hotel bed, i’m reviewing another day full of positive impressions. first we had the chance to visit tara hunt aka miss rogue at citizenspace to do some work and get some of her spare minutes to present our platform for some critical review. i think she liked it! at three o’clock we headed over to half moon to meet robert scoble for an interview. a man as likable and fun as he is a multimedia and blogging star! that was exciting :) check this for the first livestreamed interview.

what goes around comes around

yesterdays networking tour started with a rendez-vous with loic le meur. loic has got his roots in france and is Le Web 3’s and Seesmic’s founder and CEO. it was another impressive insight into an up-and-coming silicon valley start-up. again there were loads of questions – and loic was happy to give us some of his precious time (seesmic’s planning to go live in two weeks!!), advice and the european perspective on the valley’s modus operandi.

business is sport

today we went to have lunch with thomas jakob who works for swisscom innovation’s silicon valley outpost. it was another interesting insight. thomas confirmed - what might be obvious when you look at the stunning number of about 8000 start-ups in the valley - that in the bay area everything is about business; business is the valley’s national sport (except for yoga and networking of course), business is the valley‘s lifestyle. and even if everything is open, relaxed and positive: the valley is a highly efficient and darwinistic microsystem where you get eradicated rather sooner than later if you do not take care. thomas‘ guess was that of 10 start-ups about two make it, 2 vegetate among the living dead and 6 have to pack it.
