Finding Solutions - Project and Relationship Management

Barbara Buckley / Oct 18, 2022

Over the years, our team at Amazee Labs has partnered with a diverse range of clients from various industries. Yet often, the challenges and frustrations clients strive to overcome are universal across all industry sectors. In our Finding Solutions blog series, we explore three common pain points which often present challenges to clients: project and relationship management, technical complexities, and UX optimisation. And most importantly… how we address those challenges.

In this first article, we focus on the frustrations, or challenges, which are often experienced in terms of project and relationship management. This can encompass a wide range of topics, but we have discovered that our clients are all looking to overcome very similar barriers.

How can I control the budget for the current operating costs of my websites?"

"How do we keep our site up to date but yet within our budget to still be able to implement new features and work on improvements?

Budgeting is always a hot topic and successfully managing a project budget is the backbone of a great client relationship. Websites require regular maintenance and to provide more planability, control, and peace of mind for our clients, we introduced the Web Maintenance Flat Fee.

There are numerous advantages to paying for your maintenance costs on a monthly basis. Firstly, you can avoid nasty surprises! You have a clear upfront overview of the cost of keeping your website healthy and secure.

Additionally, your website is kept up to date, which makes adding new features more straightforward.

Finally, you can reduce resource overheads. Our project management team takes care of the day-to-day maintenance which allows you to focus on other areas.

We want ONE partner to help us with hosting, design, reporting, development, and the update of our website."

"We are looking for a long-term relationship with collaboration.

Searching for the right agency to partner with can be painful, but it shouldn't be! Providing a comprehensive range of services and solutions is essential to nurturing a sustainable client relationship. Offering hosting solutions, combined with a team of experienced designers and developers who are passionate about what they do, can create the one-stop solution that the majority of clients are eager to find.

However, what are some of the other ingredients required to make a client relationship stand the test of time?

We’re in it for the long haul. We aren’t about the quick wins. By moving away from merely transactional partnerships, and striving towards unified cross-company teams, the most creative solutions can be born, and the result is a high-quality end product that digitally embodies the spirit of your business.

We always listen. It feels like an obvious statement – always listen! Truly listening and really hearing what a client is trying to express or highlight is a skill in itself. The ability to read between the lines, without falling into the trap of assumption, is a balancing act that many fail to master. Yet, this skill is arguably the cornerstone of collaborations that go on to achieve remarkable results.

Here is some recent feedback from one of our clients. As you can imagine, it made the whole team smile:

Holcim has been working with Amazee Labs for over 18 months and during that time the team has always delivered to a very high standard. Amazee Labs are true professionals and a pleasure to work with. From websites to apps, from design to technical, they really know what they are talking about and have greatly improved our digital products and services. I highly recommend Amazee Labs for all your digital needs. I hope our professional relationship will continue for many years to come.

What if we find during the project that we need to make some changes? Can we still have these incorporated?

Things change! Even with the best will in the world and great planning, sometimes unexpected events mean that a project plan needs to be amended.

Being able to offer clients peace of mind and flexibility is priceless. This comes down to how we work. Excellent communication with the project team but also the project methodology.

For us, agile project management offers speed and flexibility. One of the primary benefits of the approach is ‘project adaptability’ – what does this mean? When you need to change, amend or adapt we are also quick to act.  The iterative nature of the methodology is aimed at keeping costs down when changes need to happen, but at the same time maintaining the pace of the project, and hitting those all-important milestones.

Check out the further advantages of agile project management and how it benefits the creation of project specifications and kick-offs.
